 About Glenville…

Glenville is located on the northeast side of Cleveland, just south of the upscale city of Bratenahl, and north of University Circle, where many of the city’s cultural institutions are rooted. The birthplace of noteworthy names ranging from Jesse Owens, to Superman, to Steve Harvey, to Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Glenville is actually very rich in history and was once a thriving and prosperous neighborhood.

Unfortunately, for many decades it has been a rather blighted area. Though some redevelopment efforts have been underway for a number of years, the neighborhood has a long way to go still in order to return to prosperity.

Glenville benefits from very quick access to Rt. 2/I-90 for easy access to downtown and eastern suburbs. The housing stock is a mix of single family houses, duplexes, and apartment buildings, the vast majority of which were developed prior to the Great Depression.

Though Glenville does have a lot of community pride, especially associated with the high school, rental turnover tends to be high, and it is a neighborhood investors should look at with extreme caution due to the crime and other problems that persist.
