Situated at the northeastern corner of the City of Cleveland, and directly adjacent to Euclid, North Collinwood is a very popular area for real estate investors, both locals and out-of-towners.
The neighborhood benefits from adjacency to Rt. 2/I-90, for very quick access to downtown as well as eastern suburbs.
The area consists primarily of detached single family houses and duplexes, but there are a number of quads and larger apartment buildings in North Collinwood as well. The majority of the housing stock was built between the early 1920s through the 1950s.
It has seen a significant upswing in recent years as a result of the Waterloo Arts District taking greater shape, around the area of E. 156th Street and Waterloo Avenue, as well as somewhat of a resurgence of the lakefront and the E. 185th Street commercial area. Generally, the further out (i.e. heading northeast, toward Euclid) one goes, the higher grade the location becomes.
