 About South Collinwood…

South Collinwood is situated at the eastern edge of the City of Cleveland, and has a 100+ year history as a working class residential and industrial area.

The neighborhood benefits from its relatively easy access to Rt. 2/I-90 for quick access to downtown and the eastern suburbs. It consists primarily of single family and multi-family houses, and has a smattering of small apartment buildings here and there as well.

The majority of the housing stock was built between the early 1900s through the 1950s.

Though the area was hit pretty hard in the recession a decade ago, there has been some recovery in values over the past few years. The caliber of South Collinwood varies considerably from block to block, with the area east of E. 152nd Street generally being less blighted than the area to the west.
